Your app’s emails
Your apps send their emails — password resets, address confirmations — through Makasi, with nothing to set up. You can also send from your own email provider and domain.
1. Included, with nothing to build
Every app sends its emails through Makasi: password resets, address confirmations and the other messages your app needs. Nothing to configure, nothing to ask the assistant to build.
By default, emails leave from Makasi’s sending domain, in your app’s name, and replies go to your account email address.
A monthly sending allowance is included in your plan; Manage › Emails shows about how many recipients remain this month. Once it is used up, sending continues on your credits.
2. Send from your own provider and domain
- In Manage › Emails, choose “Send through my own provider”.
- Fill in the SMTP settings from your email provider: SMTP host, port, username, password and from address (for example [email protected]). The password is encrypted and never shown again.
- At your provider and where your domain’s DNS lives, add the records that authorise it to send for your domain (SPF, DKIM), so your emails land in the inbox and not in spam.
This setting applies to every app on your account. Makasi uses these settings itself to send your apps’ emails: your app’s code never uses them, so do not paste them as integration keys.
3. Emails your app sends vs mailboxes
The emails your app sends automatically are not the same thing as a mailbox a person reads. Real mailboxes on your own domain (contact@, hello@) are set up separately, in Domains and emails › Emails — and a mailbox is never used as your app’s sender.
