Credits: what uses them, what is included

The agents’ work on your app is paid in credits, calculated after the fact and always shown to you. Chat is included in a monthly allowance. Here is what uses credits, what never does, and what happens when your balance reaches zero.

1. What uses credits

Building: every build — the agents building and delivering your app — is paid in credits. The cost is not estimated in advance: it is calculated from the work actually done, then shown to you.

Fixing: a fix you relaunch after a failed build is agent work like any other, and it is paid the same way.

Chatting: chat is included in a monthly allowance that comes with your plan. Your messages, and the images or documents you attach, do not touch your credits while it lasts. Once it is used up, chat continues on your credits and you can see what each message cost.

A few other services also have a share included each month: voice dictation, the assistant’s web searches, and the emails your app sends. Beyond that share, they also continue on your credits.

2. What never uses credits

Changing the theme, publishing your app and restoring a version never use credits. Neither do hand edits in the preview’s visual editor: editing a text, duplicating, wrapping or deleting an element. Hosting your apps — app, database and server — is included in your plan.

“Ask AI” in the visual editor is different: your instruction is sent to the chat, and it uses the month’s chat allowance, then your credits, like any message.

3. Seeing what you spend

During a build, a counter shows the credits used so far, updated as each step finishes. When the build ends, its total stays displayed.

When chat runs on your credits, you can check the cost of each message in the workspace and in your usage history.

“Plan & Billing”, in your account menu (your name, bottom left), shows your balance and its breakdown (free, plan, bonus, purchased), the date of your next credits, and where your credits went, run by run.

You can stop a build at any time.

4. Your credits each month

Every account, free or paid, receives free credits each month; paid plans add the plan’s credits. These included credits are reset every month, on the day of the month your current period started — the date of your next credits, shown in Plan & Billing — including on a multi-month subscription. The full amount is granted again, and what you did not use does not carry over.

Credits you buy in a pack and credits you are given (referral, bonus) are added to your balance and are not reset each month.

Credits are spent in this order: the month’s free credits, then your plan’s credits, then credits you were given, then credits you bought. A credit is worth the same on every plan.

The number of credits included in each plan is on the pricing page.

5. Topping up

  1. Open your account menu (your name, bottom left), then “Plan & Billing”.
  2. Under “Top up credits”, choose a pack — its price is shown before you buy.
  3. Pay by card or with mobile money. The credits are added to your balance as soon as the payment is confirmed.

Need more every month? Moving to a higher plan gives you more credits each month.

6. When your balance reaches zero

Chat: it keeps running on the month’s allowance while it lasts. If that allowance is used up and your balance is empty, sending is refused — the message box stays open, and a notice tells you how to continue: top up, change plan, or wait for the date of your next credits.

A build: it does not start without available credits. If your balance runs out while it is running, it stops cleanly: the work already saved is kept, and your app never goes backwards. You can relaunch it once you have topped up.

The last piece of work may go slightly over your balance. That small overrun is deducted from your next credits; your balance is never shown as negative.

With your own AI key (BYOK, on paid plans), the work continues on your key once your credits run out.

In someone else’s workspace, the owner’s balance is the one that counts: if it is empty, contact the workspace owner.

7. Frequently asked questions

Why isn’t the cost announced before a build?
Because it can only be known once the work is done: a small change costs little, a large feature costs more. You see it during and after the build, and you can stop it at any time.
What if a build fails?
What was delivered is kept, and a task that could not be built is not billed to you. Click “Retry” to relaunch it, or ask our team to take the build over at our expense.
Are credits refundable?
Credits already used are not. The refund conditions for a subscription or a credit pack are in the Terms of Service.
