Change your plan, duration or payment method
Everything happens in Plan & Billing, in your account menu. Moving up takes effect right away; moving down, at the end of the period you paid for. Here is what is charged now and what is scheduled.
1. Where to do it
Open your account menu (your name, bottom left), then “Plan & Billing”, then “Change subscription”. The price of each plan and duration is shown on screen, with taxes calculated for your country. Prices are also on the pricing page.
2. Moving to a higher plan
It takes effect immediately: the new plan is active as soon as the payment goes through, with its credits for the month.
What you pay now: one period of the new plan, minus the unused part of your current period. The exact amount is shown before you confirm.
A new period starts on the day of payment, so your renewal date changes; the next renewal is at the plan’s normal price.
You choose the duration at the same time. It must be at least as long as your current one — a shorter duration would lose time you already paid for.
3. Moving to a lower plan
Nothing is charged now. You keep your current plan until the end of the paid period; the new plan starts on that date.
The scheduled change appears in Plan & Billing with its date, and you can cancel it until then.
4. Changing the duration
The durations on offer, and the discount that comes with the longer ones, are shown in the payment window. The pricing page shows the monthly and annual prices; a 6-month duration may also be offered when you pay.
By card, moving to a longer duration is a new purchase that starts now; the time left in your current period is deducted from the payment.
With mobile money, the new duration is chosen when you renew (early or on the due date): the new period follows the one you already paid, so no paid day is lost.
Moving to a shorter duration is scheduled for the end of the paid period, like a move to a lower plan.
5. Changing your payment method
In Plan & Billing, under “Payment method”, choose what pays your next renewals: card or mobile money.
From card to mobile money: your card is no longer charged after the end of the current period. From then on, you receive an email a few days before each due date to renew with mobile money.
From mobile money to card: your mobile money period stays active until it ends; on that date, your card is charged automatically to renew your plan.
To pay a single period by card without making it your default, untick “Use as default payment method” when paying: your plan will go back to mobile money at the next due date.
6. Renewal: card or mobile money
By card, your subscription renews automatically.
With mobile money, nothing is taken automatically: you pay one or several months ahead, and email reminders warn you before the due date. “Renew now” appears in Plan & Billing during the last 7 days before the due date, and during the grace period. When a move to a lower plan is scheduled, it appears only once the paid period has ended.
If a payment fails, a grace period gives you time to sort it out, and everything keeps working meanwhile. Without payment, your account returns to the free plan.
7. Cancelling
In Plan & Billing, click “Cancel renewal”. Your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, then returns to Free. Until then, “Resume renewal” undoes the cancellation; you can also subscribe again later.
Back on the free plan, your projects, code and data are kept, and your apps stay online within the limits of the free plan. Purchased and bonus credits are kept.
What only paid plans include is paused: your custom domains (they come back if you return to a paid plan, with nothing to buy or verify again), BYOK mode (you switch it back on yourself), and your members (they come back if you return to a paid plan). The “Built with Makasi” badge reappears on your published apps.
A subscription payment can be refunded shortly after it is made, under conditions: ask from the history in Plan & Billing (“Request a refund”). The exact conditions are in the Terms of Service. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the “Withdraw from contract” button in Plan & Billing lets you exercise your right of withdrawal.
8. Frequently asked questions
- My upgrade with mobile money is refused — why?
- When what you have already paid covers the price of the higher plan, the upgrade is refused and nothing is charged; the message gives the end date of what you paid. Choose a longer duration, or come back closer to your due date.
- I cancelled my renewal and can’t move to a lower plan.
- Resume the renewal first (“Resume renewal”), then schedule the lower plan.
- Where are my receipts?
- In the history in Plan & Billing (last 12 months): each payment has its receipt.
