Your data and your code

You own the apps Makasi builds for you. Here is who sees what, how to take your code with you, and how to delete a project or your account.

1. Who sees what

The keys of your app’s services: you paste them in Manage › Integrations, where they are encrypted and never shown again. The assistant never receives their values through Makasi — it only knows their names; once your app runs, the code it wrote uses them. In your app’s logs, values are masked as a precaution, which relies on the code not printing them.

Our team: our technical team only looks at a project’s code and logs when you ask it to take over a failed build, for the time of the diagnosis and relaunch. Otherwise, our team only accesses your projects to operate the platform (security, backups, incidents) or when the law requires it.

2. Take your code with you (export)

  1. In your project, open Manage › Settings, section “Export my app”.
  2. Tick the option that includes your data if you want your data too.
  3. Click the download button: you get an archive with your source code and what is needed to start its server. Your app can live without Makasi.

Exporting your app is available on any paid plan. On the free plan: need your data? Email us at [email protected]. Only the workspace owner or an admin can export, and not while a build is running. The names of your keys come with the archive, never their values. If the export with data fails, your database may be too large to be included.

3. Delete a project

From the project’s menu, “Delete this project”, then type the project identifier shown to confirm. The app, its code, its database and its files are deleted; a live app stops immediately, custom domain included. It cannot be undone: export first if you want to keep anything (on any paid plan); on the free plan, email us at [email protected] before deleting.

4. Delete your account

Settings › Account → “Delete my account”, then retype your email address to confirm. You are signed out and your access is cut off right away; your account is deleted within 72 hours. It is permanent: your projects, their code, databases and files are deleted. Remaining credits are not refunded.

What remains: an anonymous record and the financial documents the law requires us to keep. What we keep and why is in the Privacy Policy.
